What is IPTV service?
IPTV service is delivered using IP (Internet Protocol) technology delivering to your television your favorite broadcast channels and other video content transmitted over a broadband network via a digital set top box.

How does IPTV service function?
The three main components in delivering this service are:
Content Head End: The IOL network operation center houses content comprising of varied videos and broadcast channels. Here TV channels are received and encoded.
Delivery network: BSNL's Broadband network.
Set Top Box with a remote: The Set Top Box is required at the customers premise to convert the IP signal back to TV signal. With every set top box you get a remote

What is the procedure for set up of IPTV?
Identify a suitable location for keeping the Set-Top-Box (STB). The location of Set top box should preferably near to your television set.
The technician will connect a Cat 5 LAN cable from the STB to the MTNL ADSL Modem.
The technician will demonstrate the usage of IPTV service and explain the different features of IPTV to you. The user manual for STB is also included in kit.

What is Set-top box?
STB is a small size digital decoder. It receives the IP signal from the IOL Network operation center (NOC) and after decoding it delivers your favorite broadcast channels and video content to your television.

What is the warranty on set top box?
Yes, the warranty of set top box is for one year from date of Installation. (Only against manufacturing defects)

I already have Cable TV. Can I use IPTV simultaneously along with Cable TV?
Yes. Since IPTV is provided on A/V input, Cable connection and IPTV can coexist and may be swapped through a remote.

My TV set has only limited number of channels, how can I view more number of   channels that IPTV offers? 
The limitation of number of channels available on your television set will be nullified after connecting Set top box, as tuner of STB will be used to select the channels. Hence you can view more number of channels even though your TV supports limited number of channels.

Can weather interfere with the quality of television reception e.g. heavy rains?
No. This service is delivered to you through fiber optic / Copper cables (Last Mile) which are laid underground and heavy rains will not affect the quality of your television.

Can I block adult viewing as my kids are very small and we live in joint family?
Yes, there is a feature of parental lock, which provides a password to view blocked channels.

Will I be able to use normal telephone and Internet service along with IPTV   Service? 
Yes, all the three services can work together - Normal Telephone service, Broadband Internet service and IPTV service.
