How
to shift my telephone?

SHIFT
WITHIN THE SAME EXCHANGE SYSTEM (LOCAL SHIFT) |
|
- The
telephone can be shifted without any time limit
of connection in service within the same exchange
area. The applicant will have to submit his
request in the prescribed form, the signature
duly attested by the Gazetted Officer (State/
Central) available with the Customer Relations
Centre of the area office ( the specimen form
available in the Telephone Directory) along
with the copy of the paid receipt of the latest
telephone bill to the Divisional Engineer concerned.
The shift will be carried out within 7 days
subject to technical feasibility.

SHIFT
FROM ONE EXCHANGE TO ANOTHER IN MULTI EXCHANGE AREA: |

- A
telephone obtained in OYT category is eligible
for shift, if either the telephone has worked
atleast for 6 months or the original date of
registration is covered in the new exchange
area into which the shift is requested.
- In
the case of telephones obtained under NOYT General,
the shift is eligible only if the telephone
has either worked for atleast one and a half
years or the original date of registration is
covered in the new exchange area. Request for
shift may be made in the prescribed application
form available with the Customer Relations Centre
of the area office (the specimen form available
in the Telephone Directory) along with a copy
of the paid receipt of the latest bill to the
concerned Commercial Officer. The shift of the
telephone will be carried out within 15 days
subject to technical feasibility. If the shift
is delayed, due to departmental reasons, the
subscriber is entitled for rebate in rental
beyond 15 days.
