Temporary telephone connections are sanctioned by Area Dy. General Managers for six months at a time on genuine medical grounds. The application should be supported by a medical certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner. Temporary telephone connections are also sanctioned by the AreaDy. General Managers on non-medical grounds in genuine needs provided the applicant is registered under OYT-General or NOYT-Special categories. For Government departments, Publicsector Undertakings and Statutory Bodies etc., temporary connections are sanctioned forgenuine temporary needs.

A refundable deposit of Rs. 2000/- will be collected for a temporary line without STD facility. If STD is required, a eposit of Rs. 8000/- will be collected. A temporary telephone is installed for  a period of six months.For a temporary telephone connection double the rental in advance for six months with installation fee of Rs. 800/- will be collected.

Casual connections are sanctioned by the area Asst. General Managers taking into consideration the essentiality of demand, expenditure involved and the feasibility of providing the connection at the required time.

Conditions :

	It should be ensured that the maximum period of connection is not circumvented by grant of another casual connection after the expiry of the period of the first connection
	Casual connection will be disconnected on expiry of the maximum periodpermissible unless it is converted in to a temporary connection under proper sanction of the authority. Then the connection will be deemed to be a temporary connection from the Initial date of provision and charges regulated accordingly.
	Charges will be payable as prescribed from time to time.
	Security Deposit is payable as prescribed by the Competent authority. This deposit does not bear any interest.
	No free calls is allowed on casual connections
	Subscribers can avail a telephone connection for a short period of maximum 30 days, for a specific purpose like Conference, Marriage, Meetings, Exhibition, Auction, Demonstration is called Casual connection. The following charges will be collected for a casual connection for 30 days.
	Refundable Deposit (without STD) - Rs. 2000/-
	Refundable Deposit (with STD) - Rs. 8000/-
	Installation charges - Rs. 150/-
	Rent for every 10 days -Rs. 190/-
	Casual telephone connection is not eligible for free calls. No extension is permissible
